Energy 22 is the human-child — and most often it sits in minus, because society pressures it, boxes it in, criticizes it, and strips its freedom. Other arcana don’t take the 22nd seriously; they impose their opinion until it stops being itself and tries to fit in. Like the 18th it stuffs its irrationality into a box of materiality; like the 15th it renounces its own abilities, then breaks down.
In plus it’s the soul of the company: kind, open, sincere, optimistic, spontaneous — a master of jokes and stories, an improviser, fearless before the unknown, ready to take on anything new without bias. There’s real wisdom in that simplicity. The 22nd lives in the present, can start from a clean slate, and is perceptive and incorruptible.
But be direct about the danger. This is one of the most criminal arcana — out of foolishness it gets caught where others don’t. Everyone took the bribe, but the 22nd got jailed. It can drink, drift into addictions, even sink to vagrancy, and it’s drawn into black magic if the matrix also holds the 1st, 15th, or 18th. The plus path is the traveler-blogger, the freelancer, the pilgrim; the minus is the runaway who reaches the bottom.
