Energy 18 is the most fundamental arcana for magical ability. It gives enormous materialization of thoughts — and, at the same time, an enormous quantity of fears and phobias that materialize too, until you bring the energy into plus through an effort of will. If it sits in the ancestral triangles, the gift runs through the lineage; in the child-parent channel, a parent or child carries it as well.
This is a mysterious, ambiguous arcana. The same energy that gives perfect sorcery, creativity, and prophetic dreams can, at some unmarked moment, tip into something far darker. Be honest about it: the line between genius and madness is very thin — and the difference is largely your choice. The more you immerse in and understand esoterics, the more you realize there’s nothing to fear.
As long as you fear magic, you’re susceptible to it; as long as you deny everything metaphysical while it keeps “haunting” you, you’ll talk yourself into believing you imagined it. The task is to step onto your own path — the path you’d be happy to walk even without reaching the end — accept the gift, learn to overcome your fears, and move cautiously but confidently.
